In its annual report for 2025 published yesterday, the Austrian Patent Office once again named AVL List GmbH the leading patent applicant in Austria. 

AVL RACETECH continues to broaden its involvement in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, announcing a technical partnership with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL). As part of this agreement, AVL RACETECH will assume the role of Official Dynamic Vehicle Simulation Partner to the team. This reinforces AVL RACETECH’s growing presence within the championship.

AVL RACETECH and the ECR (Ed Carpenter Racing) INDYCAR Team have entered into an official technical partnership. Building on a collaboration that began in 2021, the alliance now moves into a new phase with an expanded scope. AVL RACETECH will be the Official Dynamic Vehicle Simulation Partner of the Team. 

Nascar Team Roush Fenway Keselowski (RFK) Racing today announced that AVL RACETECH has joined the RFK TeK Alliance, further strengthening the organization’s network of advanced technology and performance partners. The partnership builds on a successful technical collaboration already established between the two organizations.

AVL is continuing its group-wide restructuring program and will cut a further 350 jobs at its Graz site.

AVL RACETECH has joined MissionH24. The program, initiated by H24Project together with the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO), is dedicated to the development of hydrogen-based, zero-emission powertrain concepts for endurance racing.

The plan is to create a distribution center that is as climate-friendly as possible, combining high efficiency with a low carbon footprint within the constraints of the location and legal requirements. AVL supported this project with an energy system simulation, which serves as the basis for concept development and specification.

A Tool for Engineering, Not Gaming: go_RACE™ aims to provide motorsport teams and drivers with accessible, cutting-edge vehicle dynamics simulation.

AVL together with consortium partners DFDS, and the University of Kent, through the Centre of Logistics and Sustainability Analytics (CeLSA) have successfully completed the Smart Electrification of Short Straits Ferries (SESSF) consortium feasibility study.

AVL is greatly expanding its global test infrastructure for fuel cell and hydrogen technology. The new center at the company’s headquarters in Graz has a maximum capacity of 20 high-performance testbeds, making it one of the largest and most advanced test sites for fuel cells and electrolysis systems in the world. With this investment, AVL strengthens its role as a pioneer for the extensive development of fuel cells as well as innovative technologies for hydrogen production.

The opening of the Battery Innovation Center marks the addition of an important future platform to AVL’s portfolio. The 1,600-m² facility is incorporated in the company’s headquarters in Graz and supports all AVL’s expertise in innovative battery concepts around the world. In launching the new center, the engineering service provider is applying the principle and expanding the scope of simultaneous engineering.
